Perennial or terrestrial herb that can reach up to 60 cm tall. Leaves are simple, thin, pleated, strap-like and forming a rosette. Leaf blade is lanceolate to broadly lanceolate, acuminate at apex, attenuate or cuneate at base with entire margin and parallel venation. Pseudobulbs are crowded along the rhizomes and enclosed in sheaths. Scapes or stem-like flowering stalks are hairy. Flowers are many flowered, dark purple to pale pink or rarely white.
