Evergreen shrub or small tree growing up to 5 m tall. Leaves are simple, arranged alternately, glossy, hairy or glabrous and dark green. Leaf blade is ovate-elliptical to lanceolate, shortly acuminate at apex, cuneate at Ease Zith toothed or Àne margin and pinnate venation. Stems are much-branching. Locally, the leaves are crushed and applied as a poultice to body area to treat stroke.
It prefers moist but well- drained soil under sunny position. It thrives along streams, in forest margins, in open woodlands and grasslands.
