Perennial aquatic plant that floats on water surface and rises above the water when blooming. The flower can reach 45 cm tall above the water. Leaves are circular to cordate, firstly forming underwater before forming on the water surface, adaxially green and sparsely hairy and abaxially purplish. Leaf blade is nearly orbiculate with toothed margin and radiate venation. Flowers are white, sometimes with pink tinge and slightly fragrant.
