Perennial, glabrous herb that can grow up to 80 cm high. Leaves are simple, forming a rosette from the base when young but disappearing when mature and producing foetid smell when crushed. Leaf blade is obovate-lanceolate to spatulate-oblong, rounded at apex, narrowly sheathing at base with toothed margin. Stems are grooved, repeatedly dichasially branched at the top into various spreading Eranches. Inflorescence a terminal cyme. Flowers are small, many- floZered and clustered in c\lindrical heads.
